OVERVIEW

Agricultural Equipment Technicians are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing agricultural machinery for Delta and our customers. This includes tractors, combines, sprayers, and implements, in the shop and on the road. Our apprenticeship program will train you to work on a variety of systems under the direction of experienced and knowledgeable technicians. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment like tractors, combines, sprayers, etc., in the shop or on the road. With 14 locations from Windsor to Ottawa, and 400+ staff members, becoming part of Delta Power Equipment is becoming part of a family and community. You will be supported, encouraged, and offered tools to succeed in your apprenticeship and career.

APPRENTICESHIP PROCESS

Delta Power Equipment will hire you as an employee and sponsor you as an apprentice in the “Agricultural Equipment Technician” program at a certified post-secondary school. Together we will find a program and school that is suitable for you. You will receive a combination of time at school and working at a Delta Power location, gaining hands-on experience, while getting paid. The apprenticeship program consists of 3 levels of theoretical training, 720 hours of in-school training, and 6,280 hours of on-the-job training. For most apprentices they can complete the program within 3 and a half years.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

High school diploma.
Interest in agriculture, construction, heavy equipment, or powersports.
Agricultural background or interest in the agricultural industry.
Mechanically inclined.
Willingness to learn.
